We'll be running a variety of competitions at Conspiracy II, some beforehand, some at the con itself.

Pre-Con:

• Short story competition (2500 words or less). The theme for this competition is "a conspiracy or conspiracies".
• Drabble competition (100 words exactly). Drabbles must be on a SF or Fantasy theme.

Unleash your inner author, and try not to beat your head against the table too hard. Please note that short stories or drabbles must be original works. Fanfics are not eligible.

All story entries should be typed, with the real name of the author at the top of the document, followed by contact details (either postal or email address), and a word count, then the story itself.

Story entries can be either emailed (in Word format) to info@conspiracy2.org.nz with the subject heading "Short story competition" or "Drabble competition" (whichever is applicable), or mailed to the Conspiracy II post office box (see the Contact Us page).

Multiple entries are allowed, but must be sent separately.

• Video/Film/Music video competition (15 minutes maximum).

A chance to display your filming or editing skills. Original films and music videos "clip shows" are both accepted. Should we get a large enough number of entries, we will divide them into categories.

Deadline for entries for all of the above: 20 May 2007.

VHS, DVD, and digital formats are all acceptable. However, if you are submitting in a digital format (eg. avi, mpeg, mov) please send it on a CD or DVD disc to the Conspiracy II post office box. Please do not email them.

If you wish to submit more than one video entry on the same video or disc, please include a note indicating so. The real name of the creator, contact details, and length of the video should be noted on the disc or tape cover.

• Art competition (includes cartoons)

Fanart is acceptable.

The real name of the artist and contact details should be included either separately or (preferably) on the back of the artwork.

• UFO/Alien photo competition

We all know they're out there. Now prove they're down here! Submit your best faked (or real!) photo of an alien or UFO sighted on terra firma.

Deadline: Preferably by 20 May 2007, but art works and photos will be accepted on the day of the con if you are having difficulty getting them to us (or have an alien encounter on the way to the con).

The real name of the artist/photographer and contact details should be included either separately or (preferably) on the back of the artwork or photograph.

Multiple entries are allowed.

• Modelling competition
• Masquerade (see Events)
• Hall costumes
• Several quizzes (see Events)
• The Great Conspiracy Caper (what's it all about? You'll have to wait and see!)

Please note: ALL entrants must be at least supporting members of Conspiracy II.
